Housing Market Update: Spring 2026

The Fort Myers housing market is showing strong signs of growth as we enter spring 2026, according to local real estate experts.
Median home prices in Fort Myers have increased 8% year-over-year, with inventory levels remaining tight. The market is particularly active in the downtown corridor and along the Caloosahatchee River.
"We're seeing a lot of first-time homebuyers entering the market," said Sarah Thompson, a local real estate agent. "Interest rates have stabilized somewhat, and people are feeling more confident about making purchases."
The rental market is also experiencing growth, with average rents increasing 5% annually. New apartment complexes are under construction to help meet demand.
Experts predict continued moderate growth through 2026, though they caution that affordability remains a concern for many residents.
