New Community Park Breaking Ground in East Lehigh

The long-awaited community park project in East Lehigh Acres is finally breaking ground this month, bringing much-needed recreational spaces to the growing neighborhood.
The $2.3 million project will include playground equipment, walking trails, sports courts, and a community center that residents have been requesting for years.
"This is a game-changer for our community," said City Manager Sarah Johnson. "Families will have safe, modern spaces to gather and children will have quality recreational facilities right in their neighborhood."
Construction is expected to take 18 months, with completion scheduled for late 2026. The park will be located on 15 acres of land donated by the Lehigh Acres Development Corporation.
